I have a 02 allroad with the 2.7t tip. I hope I can get some advice on here. I've been searching high and low and been pulling my hair out for days with no luck. I've been having this error code off and on and I've check the harness, fix 2 broken connectors and repaired afew burnt wires but no luck fixing this. The cam chain tensioners was replace when I had to swap the engine 15k ago. The camshaft position sensor was also replaced when the engine was swap. Bentley manual said that there is a 15a fuse on that harness that go to the cam tensioners solenoid but I can't find it for the life of me. I am at a lost....

It's probably in the E-box under the cowl.

Are you sure it's not S228? this would be fuse 28 on the left side of the dash and also controls the fuel pump. If the car starts that's not the problem. Short to B+ is an open circuit. Did you check for power and ground at the cam tensioner?

I've check the ohms on driver side is getting more then 13 ohms but the passenger side is 13.5. Will that cause the short?

I've also check the camshaft position sensors and they seem to be ok. I've also repaired the connector because they were brittle with new used connector from spare harness but still getting error code. Now error codes said both cam chain tensioners are malufuctioning.

I don't know what to do anymore....Should I just tear down the harness to see if there is short in there or just replace the cam chain tensoiner solenoid.
