Anyway to get compass directions instead of NAV on screen?

I had loaner 2016 a6 and it shows compass direction on screen in dash instead of saying NAV and the little globe symbol in my 2013. Is there a way to make it show compass directions? I miss the compass directions in my older Audi rear view mirrors.

I think I stumbled over it once when I discovered that the left side steering wheel thumb thingy changed stuff.

If I recall correctly, the compass was enabled via the hidden service menu in the MMI. (which you have to enable via VDCS in order to then access)

jk, doing this enables the compass in your rearview mirror, or on the NAV screen? I too miss not having it in the rearview mirror. OP, the alternative is to have it display in the instrument cluster.

you can get the compass on your dashboard in between the tach and speedo by using the left scroll button on the steering wheel to change the options without using vcds. It has a ton of information

yes i know that, but I would prefer (if possible) to just show the compass direction on the screen all the time instead of the little globe symbol and NAV next to it.

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do change the lettering from NAV to the actual direction. Did you ever figure out how to do that, I have an OBD 11 and I’m trying to activate the Compass menu
