P0455 evap system - large leak detected

Anybody know common issues for throwing this code in a 2.0t A4? I searched and the only thing I've come up with is to do a full inspection of the EVAP system. I'm guessing that commonly it happens from a valve or solenoid failure. Any techs out there that have access to the technical service bulletins related to this problem? I'm trying to do this myself and I don't have a smoke machine to test the system. Any insight helps. Thanks guys.

Use an unlight lighter while car is running and you will here the revs go up where a leak is detected.

I don't follow. Can you please elaborate on that? Did you mean an unlit lighter? and what do I do with it?

When I got that one, it ended up being a half inch gash in the line running from the fuel filler to the front in the front passenger fender well. Looked like it broke free from the clip that holds it up and got pinched between metal parts of the frame one time when they lifted the car. Once the fender skirt was out, it was pretty visible (in my case).

Ended up being the N80 purge valve. A $20 bosch part purchased from ECS tuning. (Whew) Replaced it, no more 0455 cel. Engine sounds smoother too! I thought the heavy clicking was due to direct injection but swapping this little tiny valve out cut the sound down 75%. I would've never found out about this problem if it weren't for "The Humble Mechanic" on YouTube because honestly, the old part didn't look like it was faulty or leaking.
