Question Pure Protection Warranty - Claim Issues or Problem Free?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have read numerous people have purchased the Audi Pure Protection Warranty's (Underwritten by Fidelity). I have seen the platinum level mentioned. But, what I haven't found much on this forum is if people have had issues getting claims paid or if it has been a worry free process. The other issue is many have the extended warranty but are still covered under their factory warranty or CPO, so they have no history.

So... Is there anyone who has the plans, used these plans and have had good things to say about them? Will hear the bad too but curious if there is any good. Especially as it comes to anything major one may have had tried to get covered under the warranty.

There should be no issues, I have the platinum coverage.

I have the platinum coverage as well and will be bringing it to my local shop for a list of items to be checked on and hopefully covered. The shop indicated they have worked with them in the past and the process wasn't terrible. The time needed for the initial inspection by the shop, submittal of a claim and possibly an additional inspection by their warranty folks makes the whole process a little longer. Add in the time to order parts and install, they told me it would be about a week. Thankfully, I will be out of town for a week while they have my car. I will report back when it's all done in early May.

I just got off the phone with the shop and they have submitted the following to be covered: passenger and driver engine mounts, valve cover gasket/seal, front control arms, driveshaft (has play), rear diff mounts.

They said the inspector should be out tomorrow. I will post when I get a final word.

I have the platinum coverage and had a valve stick open after initial warranty expired. I also have a heavily modified car. Took the car to the audi dealership and got the repairs done with no problems. Repairs were covered without need for an inspector to check out the car. Only paid $100 deductible.

That's good to hear. I have mine at an Indy shop, so perhaps they prefer to send out folks to places that are not Audi dealers. The shop has worked with fidelity a bit and has not had issues, they said these items shouldn't be an issue to cover.

Side note-had anyone had to replace the drive shaft? They told me it's a 1900 part.

I bought the warranty at the same time I bought the car at an Audi dealership

I should add that I am normally one to avoid any extended warranty. These are typically designed to maximize profits for the seller at the expense of the consumer. Once upon a time I worked as an electronics sales rep and learned that the mark up on extended warranties are insane.

That said, these cars are expensive to fix and with my recent experience with the valve I am glad I picked it up. Particularly as the mods I've made had zero impact on coverage. The repair cost me $100 for something that would have been >$1000. So far I've spent more for the warranty than the repairs I've made but with my intention to keep this car for quite a while I feel there is a significant probability that I'll use this again.

Also, getting the repairs done at the dealership was smooth and transparent to me. I dropped off the car and it was repaired in the same time frame as if I were having it done under the original manufacturers warranty. My service advisor handled everything. No claims or reimbursement on my part required.

Guess it depends on what you mean as no brainer. Compared to dealer I get but the cost is another. What was the cost and term?

I'm assuming then this isn't your 2012 A4 listed, with only 16K current miles.

All of the above work was approved except for the control arms. They said they wouldn't cover that because I am lowered. Oh well. 5 day wait on the propeller shaft ad it's coming from Germany.

Audi Pure Protection warranty is probably the best out there. I have had heavily modified A4 and RS4 and now i am getting ready to get my current A4 on it. My current car is Flagged TD1 with Audi Long story but i have talked to my service advisor who i have had for 8 years and obviously since i was flagged TD1 was wondering if i should get it.
i confirmed again with the manager and Audi Pure Protection has no way or know if your car is Flagged TD1.
i am going forward to get the extended warranty.....

To respond to some of the questions....
yes if you get the warranty thru the dealer they will take care of you. Mind you do most of my maintenance at the dealer but use local shops to modify my cars. In the past with my A4 ans RS4 my dealer has gone to bat for me and have replaced many including transmission on my B7 A4 and also and Engine on my RS4... and mounts and many little things...
so to say the least if you have it and have a good relationship with your dealer do it and you will not regret it....

I got the platinum, up to 100k and 8 years from the in service date. Just used it and got them to approve about 4,500 in work. Paid about 2,500 for the warranty.
