Looks like they are trying to clear out 2016 inventory. As salesy as it gets though. If they offered you an S3 cabrio they can reduce your payment by $454 (making this up) too. If you are a lease guy, and concerned with the monthly expense than it could make sense. But you are a gear head that owns an RS5 for the V8 and the bad ass noise and looks.

Seems like the demand for RS5s are going up. Went to a few places to get my car appraised for shit and giggles and was pretty amazed by some of the offers.

Even one NISSAN dealership (of all places) gave me an offer higher than one of the audi dealerships...

Well U must be tickled that they think so highly of your RS5, nice compliment but ultimately trying for another sale. Given that we have the same cars (again minus the sexy mods)but 1 year apart, I'll wait to see if I get a similar offer from my/any dealer (doubtful). Curious , same dealer you purchased from or random solicitation? BTW, how much less would your payment be? Oh, never mind, I think I remember reading something ~ that in their offer.

@All below! I am glad you all thought the same thing. Just a desperate attempt to clear inventory with some weak (transparent) tactics. Even the attempt at making me feel good about that I have (and I DO!)

THIS PART - Hell yes. I'm not disrespecting the S5. Just I have what I wanted, still having fun with the mods and V8 will become rare. Honestly we are looking at second homes and gotta have a 2-3 car garage and the RS5 will stay. Never say never but I plan on keeping it for a long time.

"Offers only apply to in-stock vehicles ...". Each month the trade in equity would drop by a value somewhat base on/associated with the decrease in the amount owed on the loan. When I went in for my 35K service in December, I stopped by the general managers office and politely asked him to stop sending me letters advising how they'd love to give me auction numbers for my CPO quality vehicle ... especially when an inventory search showed that had zero S5's - in stock or otherwise. Haven't seen one since.

It is an "equity tool" that tries to pull current customers out ahead of their maturity dates, and put them in new cars. Dealers around me use it because I see clients bringing them in to me occasionally asking me to match the offers, etc.

I'm quite sure your right. The preposterous part for me is that I still love the RS5 / V8 etc. As a marketing guy - I get it but can see through the "exclusive" and disclaimers pretty quickly.
