Angry Audi Palo Alto Technician Joyriding In A Customer's Car & Allegedly Doing Cocai

Saw this on this forum under A7/S7/RS7 model-line discussion....

And I have service scheduled for Monday

["Have you ever taken your car in for servicing and found something amiss with it afterward? Even if you have, you’ve hopefully experienced nothing like what one Audi owner went through when he found traces of a mysterious white powder found in the seams of his car’s seats after picking it up from the Audi Palo Alto servicing center. But the true horror came when he checked his dashboard camera’s video and learned that the service technician seems to have snorted cocaine in his car before taking it on a joyride".]

My friend linked me to this video and this is where I buy my cars from and do service! I have a 2017 A4 on order with them now. I will probably be moving my service to another dealer but I am going to have a long talk with the GM about this when I get my A4. RS5 not due for service for another few months. This is not good at all. Thank goodness I have a blackvue installed too.

My post-service dashcam footage is always so dull, guess I should be very happy. If you don't have one, they are easy to fit, highly recommended.

Moving service to another dealer seems like an overreaction in my opinion. Particularly is you are otherwise satisfied with the dealer. This is clearly an isolated incident. Im sure that tech has been fired. You are just as likely to find a coke snorting joy rider and the next dealership as you are to find another one at the current dealership. Hard for dealers or any business for that matter to prevent a bad apple from doing stupid things.

That assumption you are working on is that this would be the only reason. This is just one of the reasons. Plus I didnt say I was going to change in the first place (I said probably and will talk to them first). But I totally disagree with your assumption that it is hard for any employer to make sure their employees are sober on the job. If you would risk letting this place work on your car without talking to them first about why this happened and what they are doing to prevent it then thats you choice to make. Me I am talking to them and if not satisfied, I'm on to the next place.
