Install was easier than I thought. Actually, I have never had such a straight forward suspension install in any previous car. All of you guys out there who are questioning yourselves, I say go for it, you'd be surprised.
Dont mind the mess, I am that one dude who rips open the xmas gift wrapping like an animal lol.
Few Tips :-
- Dont get frustrated at all, just take your time.
- Most of us doing this at home will not have the luxury of using a lift, hence no way of putting weight on the disc like the videos online, dont use your foot to wiggle the disk to free the lower part of strut. Use soap and water and spray it on the knuckle specially on the backside where you see the knuckle opening. Makes life much easier, once shock is released wipe it off and you are good to go.
- When connecting the endlink try to jack up the knuckle just enough to get the endlink to sit straight between link and sway bar otherwise you would get some noise when steering left or right. Make sure you test endlinks later when aligning the car.
- There are many ways to work around the strut nut on front shocks, many go with the infamous Visegrip or offset wrench. I couldnt find the offset wrench on a sunday so decided to pick a 3/4(I think) Sae Socket, slide an allen wrench right thru the middle and hold inner bolt with that and use a big wrench to turn the socket. Needless to say it was fairly easy with little to no effort.
- Avoid over torquing where bolt meets aluminum.
