Help with this bolt/thing

New Member, thinking about painting my Calipers-- Saw these, loved it.. what i dont know/understand is - Does this bolt or post thing come out of the brakes, or do i need a special tool- etc??

I've searched and asked in the wheel caliper paint post/thread.

Surely Someone has this answer-- sorry i'll stop calling you shirly. ;)

Those hold the pads in place. The 9th picture of the thread pasted below will give you an idea.

Thanks Baked but I've see this thread and already and i dont see anything in here that answers my question- How do they come out or was the OP from the Caliper painting thread THAT obsessed w/ detail that he polished and masked off that post??

I just painted over mine, they had corrosion anyway. I've also since done a pad and rotor replacement and they don't need to be removed to do it. Not sure how you'd remove them...

I"m wondering if you can get a large enough external torx socket that would be able to remove it... if it can be at all.

Sorry, I missed your question there. I am not sure of the exact tool that gets used, but according to the link below, it is possible but they advise against it.

Brake fluid is poisonous. NEVER siphon brake fluid with your mouth!
