I tried searching and couldn't find a solid answer... a buddy put a new heater core in his S4, all went well but now he has a little problem of it not starting anymore. He says the check engine light is flashing. Any thoughts? All help is appreciated!

Check engine light flashing means misfires. Hook it up to vag com and read codes.

Engines usually misfire while they're running, unfortunately this is a crank-no-start. Only code was a p1602 (18010) terminal 30 voltage

Asked him if the car had any go-fast parts on it... he said "oh yeah! It's got gauges, exhaust, etc."

Should have been my first question. I'm betting it has an APR ecm.

Good call S4 00 2.7 ! Thanks for the help!
