On average, what is the drop in IATS with the meth injection?
We noticed about a 20=-25*F drop in iat's spraying water/meth before the intercooler. There are tricks to get the temps even lower for the track. Fill your meth reservoir with ice and you will be amazed as your iat's drop instead of climb through a pull.

And from 5700 to redline it looks like no gain at all for the Stage 2 tune, meth and open 3" aftermarket downpipes vs the stage 1 tune with no meth and stock downpipes/cats. This is further proof that the stock downpipes and cats are very very good as I've been saying for months. What I'm surprised by is the lack of gains for the meth injection. I guess it's not really effectively bumping up the octane otherwise we'd see gains similar to those of competitor's software going from 93 to 100 to 104, etc.
Low end and mid range gains look great on paper but won't really equate to a quicker accelerating car in the 1/4 mile or from a roll. The reason is because after each shift the RS7 is already in the low to mid 5K RPM range.
Yes, two quick points to your point. While I agree that the stock hardware is quite good as far as stock cats go, the low end gains alone are definitely worth the trouble/cost of doing downpipes.
When we told the customer the gains and showed him the dyno sheet he had a similar reaction to you. Once he drove the car it completely changed his point of view. He couldn't believe how much more responsive it was and much bigger the power band was.
Here are some quick comparisons we did with the downpipes and water meth without any tuning changes to our stage 1 software for comparison.
You will notice it appears the top end lost power by adding down pipes. I would attribute this to heat soak as I was pressed for time and did not allow the car to cool down for a proper comparison. Either way it is what it is. No tricks, no gimmicks, just the actual data un-smoothed for your viewing pleasure.
Stage 1 (Green) vs Stage 1 with Dp's (Red)
Stage 1 with Dp's (Red) vs Stage 1 with Dp's and meth(Green)
Stage 1 with Dp's and Meth(Green) vs Stage 2 with Dp's and Meth (Red)
Notice once we retuned the car for meth it picked up power on the top end.
