Do you know what engine code the RS7 uses? Is it more similar to the S8's engine (CGTA) or the S6/S7's engine (CEUA)?

Your one fault is that the RS6/RS7 do NOT have the came compression ratio at the S6/S7... 10:1 (S6) to 9.3:1 (RS7)... which is a HUGE difference in the ability to run higher boost pressure and timing without having knock. Of course cooling and other factors have an impact.. but that is the largest.

For you, maybe, but I'm betting that there won't be too many others who are as obsessed with the detail differences as you are...

Why not just wait another year or so and buy an RS7 if you want RS7 performance?...

Good luck with your research, nonetheless.

One thing that you may want to consider if that the RS7 and the S6/7 have different intake plenums. When I say intake plenum, I am not talking about the air box, air filter or turbo inlet pipes (there has been research completed on them, we know the RS components flow more).

By this I mean that everything from the turbo outlet to the intake manifolds is different. You have a different air to water heat exchanger (sometimes referred to as a brick), a different intake plenum box at the front of the car and different charge pipes that go from the intake plenum to the intake manifolds.

A lot of people get wrapped up in the external heat exchanger at the front of the car and looking to upgrade it.

Another huge difference between the two cars is that the RS models have upgraded water and oil cooling. This is typical from Quattro GmBH, they always upgrade the water an oil cooling on RS models.

I think the research should be put into learning the difference in air flow (CFM) between the two systems.

One last thing to consider is that there is a huge gearing difference (gearing is a torque multiplier) between the S6/7 and RS models, 1:1 is achieved in different gears, as well as a a different RPM range.

APR is one of the most thorough and transparent companies when it comes to collecting and sharing data, we are blessed that they have been able to provide products/data for multiple platforms, with consistent testing via their dynapack.

Just remember, comparing a RS model vs a S6/S7 with RS turbos is not going to be apples to apples, primarily because of the transmission/gearing differences.
