    2004 Allroad 4.2l V8 - $2000 - Perfect for 6-Speed Manual Swap!!

Title says it all. Wish I had the time to do the 6-speed manual swap on my 4.2 but just too much going on.

    First, the bad:
No 4th & 5th gear. Looks like a burnt out E clutch caused by torque converter failure. 1st, 2nd, 3rd & reverse work fine
Valve cover gaskets leaking. I have new Reinz gaskets with cam plugs, etc, included with sale.
Hazard switch has just started to fail intermittently
Leaking front left air strut (very, very slowly)
Secondary air faults, have not tried to diagnose as I'm not driving it with transmission issue

    The Good:
Clean interior, all leather in great shape, no cracks
Within the last 5,000 miles (all in 2015)
    • New water-cooled alternator
    • New Interstate MegaTron Plus Battery
    • New front right air strut
    • New front zimmerman rotors & akebono ceramic pads
    • New front CV axles (Audi not chinese)
    • Engine Air & Cabin Air Filter
    • Valley Pan Gasket

Paint is great, no rust, corrosion etc. Body is good minus standard bumper scratches/scuffing near lift gate.

Happy to answer questions you have. Will post photos as soon as system lets me, but can also email. Love this car a lot but it's time to say good bye

    Thanks for looking!!

He said he'll post them, but he's a new user so he has to get his post count up before he can use the AZ hosting feature. :)

OP, you can try using another image hosting site (I use photobucket) then you don't have to wait for post counts before putting up pictures. Pretty easy to use but feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Just had to be on the opposite Coast didn't you.... Car looks like a great candidate for a 5 speed swap or at least a trans rebuild.

I always wanted to take it cross-country but with no 4th & 5th it might take till Labor Day! I wasn't brave enough to try a rebuild myself. I've dreamed of a 6 speed manual conversion but barely have time to sleep these days.

To confirm, since a few members asked, besides SAI bank 1 & 2 no other fault codes stored. Usually a bad hose or stuck kombi valve/valves but I really haven't tried to diagnose. Thanks for looking!!
