Headlamps and Tail lights Retrofit for S6 C7.5?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a 2013 S6 and want to retrofit the headlamps and tail lights for C7.5.

What parts do I need for this retrofit?

Do I need a new front bumper, too?

    Hey.

    For the front you need:

    - headlights with modules
    - new bumper ( C7.5 one), possibly new front grille if the old one doesn't work with the new bumper.
    - central electrics module
    - new bracket to secure the headlights ( separate piece that replaces the one you have on the car now)
    - you also new to redo the wiring for the headlights.

The hood and fenders are the same.

    For the tailights you need:

    - tail lights with modules ( if you don't want to code/change your central convenience module)
    - facelift rear bumper and diffuser that goes with that rear bumper

You don't need the facelift rear bumper or diffuser for facelift rear lights.

    Thanks for the info.
It is not a simple plug & play. How much will it cost? More than $10,000 plus labor?

You can do it without it - but there will be a gap between the tail light and the pre-facelift rear bumper.

Some can accept that, some may "work' the rear bumper a little to cover the gap and some will want that bumper changed.

I wrote above the ideal solution - where everything fits perfectly.

    Thanks.

Thanks! It was a team work. Most of the things i do i do them in the shop - it is easier for me. Everything regarding the research it is done by me. The shop just verifies my theories by putting them into practice :)

Definately not a plug and play thing. Costs depends a lot on:

    - where do you source your parts
    - labour cost ( if you do it yourself or in a shop)
    - things you 'break' in the process :))

    Hope this helps!

PS. As an example: the matrix headlights i put cost new at Audi ~3500 usd each without modules and fans. So you probably would pay close to 10.000 only for the headlights themselves complete with modules and fans.

As mentioned already, the headlights are a bigger project. Just finishing up a similar project to cmg_r with a facelifted RS6 sedan that a customer is doing. It does require more items than just headlights, body pieces including bumper, grille and then new central module and wiring work.

The taillights can be done without a new rear bumper, but there is a gap between the taillight and bumper when installed. This can be dealt with by small cover plates, having an autobody shop build up the bumper taller to meet the taillights or a new rear post-facelift bumper.

The taillight kit itself is available and is the only one specifically designed for North American installation:

    Taillight Packages | A6, S6 Post-Facelift LED (Sedan)

If anyone has anymore questions do let me know via PM or email: [email protected]

How big is the gap? Is it noticeable? If not, I want to do without buying new s6 bumper which is very costly.

Hey man, do you happen to have a wiring diagram to retrofit the C7.5 LED headlights to the C7 platform (also with LED headlights)? Thanks in advance

You can find retrofit taillights on eBay for like $450-$650 and it’s plug and play from there
