    SSAC / XSPOWER downpipe clamps?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, so I decided to give these SSAC / XSPOWER downpipes a shot. The fitment was not too bad, but I have an exhaust leak where the midpipe (not sure if this is the name) is flared to slip over the downpipe (not sure the name). I tried cranking down on the provided with a 1/2" breaker even and the midpipe is still slipping on the downpipe. Any suggestions for better clamps without having to remove anything and reweld?

    Thanks.

Hmmm not really wanting to pay very much... Welding is probably a last resort, I imagine they would want a few hundred at least and that's the price of the downpipes lol..

If they provided standard crush type clamps try using a band clamp instead.

The clamps they provided look almost identical to those accuseal ones, I wonder if the accuseal type would make a difference

I ordered some exhaust sealant goop but the clamps dont even tighten down so the downpipe will bounce in and out of the mid pipe... has anyone used some kind of wrap for a shim? Aluminum foil?

I would say $100 max to get them welded. Go to a mom and pop shop and tell them what you want. You would be surprised how cheap it could be.

Ok, thanks. They would have to remove the exhaust to get at these though, and probably remove the downpipes to get the weld all around, I imagine it would cost way more.
