    Lightbulb Anyone Running Smaller Tires?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi I am not a fan of the 245/45-18 all-seasons that came with my A6. There are usually used S4 summer tires floating around for decent prices but they are 245/40-18. Has anyone run smaller tires on their A6? Did you change the speedometer via Vagcom? How was the end result? Thanks in advance.

My AR also runs 245/45/18, however, my summer setup is 255/35/19 and winter is 225/45/18. Both of these sizes are .75" shorter than the stocks. I have yet to adjust the speedo via VagCom and tell you the truth, was not aware that you could. Without doing so, my gas and mileage indicator have artificially been off so I'll look into adjusting the speedo. Ride quality is a little more harsh since you're running a lower profile tire. However, the look with a shorter sidewall makes the vehicle more aggressive looking.

Plug your numbers into this tire calculator and it will show you the difference.
