    • Quicker Reaction Time — Short consistent pedal travel can save your life in a panic situation.
    • Improved Pedal Feel — Firm confidence-inspiring brake pedal due to ultra-stiff calipers, differential piston sizing and stainless steel braided lines.
    • Less Weight — Enables shorter stops, quicker acceleration, improved steering feel and handling.
    • Lower Long-Term Maintenance Costs — Cutting-edge design in a durable, low-cost system.
    • Compatibility and Ease of Installation — Compatible with ABS and traction control systems with brake bias designed to ensure ultimate gripping power; all hardware is included to ensure a quick and seamless installation.
    Brake Calipers:
Revo by Alcon calipers are cast from one piece of aluminum. This single casting design with the cross bridges cast in place creates a very stiff unit and very little compliance during braking. Less compliance means less pedal travel because the brake fluid is only applying force to the pistons, not bending the caliper. This applies the maximum amount of force to the Ferodo performance brake pads. Our brakes use ultra-high-resilience piston seals, with proprietary retraction angle shape, minimising piston travel distance for less dead pedal travel and resulting in better pedal feel in the vehicle.

    Brake Rotors:
Racers have long used floating disc technology, but the discs found on racecars move freely on the floating pin drive connecting the bell to the disc, causing noise. To eliminate the rattling race disc for our street car customers, we have re-engineered the floating system using noise-reducing methodology that eliminates noise but still allows for thermal expansion with expanding floating capabilities to handle higher temperatures.
    • Crescent grooves in the surface of our Alcon brake disc perform three basic functions: Increases initial friction between the disc and pads, producing more bite, continuously refreshes the brake pad surface by removing debris from the pad and prevents build up of gas from the phenolics within the pads.
    • Our brakes rotors 252 vanes to draw air from the center of the disc outward. These vanes work like a pump to move cool air through the center of the disc, taking the heat away from the disc and cooling it before the next heavy braking zone.
    Brake Pads:
Ferodo DS2500 Brake Pads offer low and high speed braking efficiency, reduced stopping distances and a consistent brake pedal feel from the start. This new generation of friction material is very low in compressibility ensuring a firm pedal, whilst still providing low wear rates for discs and pads. Combined with low wheel dusting and good noise characteristics, this compound is the brake pad for the driver who demands the ultimate in track day braking performance.

    Brake Lines:
Hosetechnik Stainless Brakeline Kits are manufactured with the finest quality hose, consisting of a PTFE inner and stainless steel braided outer to improve braking performance, eliminate the spongy feel of the original rubber hoses, and provide superior resistance to abrasion and corrosion. These kits not only provide the reliability and safety demanded in a brake system, but offer good looks that improve the appearance of any installation.

    Brake Fluid:
Motul Dot 5.1 brake fluid is a long life 100% synthetic brake fluid suitable for all types of hydraulic actuated-brake and clutch systems that require DOT 5.1, DOT 4 and DOT 3 manufacturers’ brake fluid recommendations.
Particularly suitable for use with anti-lock braking systems (ABS).
    • Long life brake fluid
    • 100% synthetic brake fluid from polyglycol bases.
    • Dry boiling point 270 °C / 518 °F
    • Wet boiling point 185 °C / 365 °

Alcon produces some of the worlds best braking components in the world and is routinely used in competition and also in OE high performance applications. The calipers and rotors are produced by Alcon and feature some extremely high tech aspects built into them, full monoblock construction on the caliper for extreme stiffness and makes it very lightweight. The rotors are a "turbulator" design which is a patented Alcon system which pumps air through the rotor as efficiently as possible to cool the rotor and ensure it does not overheat with extremely use. With that being said the addition of the freer moving floating system that is more advanced than the previous generation Alcon based kits makes this a top pick for the hardcore track junky or anyone who is taxing their brakes in any other situation enough to consider performance pads, stainless lines and "performance rotors". At this price it's the best bang for your buck advanced BBK. Brembo, Alcon and AP are all on par as producing the most advanced braking components out there for street, track and race use.

I believe at one point a matching rear rotor that was either the same size or larger was being planned, but I would need to check and see if Revo plans to move ahead with that as well.

For a road only use car a BBK isn't the first place to go for a performance upgrade certainly. However when you start adding traction, more power, better handling, etc you can certainly use up the stock brakes out on the street. If you then go with an upgraded pad you can then overwhelm the stock rotor. Then you fit a "performance" rotor and even then the shear weight of these cars with some surprisingly large amounts of power the Stage 2 cars are making it can overwhelm stock sized brake components and if you plan on ever doing any driving events on track then a BBK is certainly justifiable. Toss in a good discount and definitely a temptation...

    Cheers,
Cannot say if Alcon currently offers a rear disc/pad package. However, I have the Stasis (Revo, Alcon...) version of the rear disc and pad set up, utilizing the OEM caliper. Maybe there are still some out there. Somewhere.

The rear disc is scalloped and the set has lasted 30 months/25k miles. Still has 6+mm of pad remaining and no obvious wear on the disc. It was worth it to me to stop using the throw away OEM discs that have a relatively short life span. Same rationalization with the fronts, although more expensive.

The DS2500 are a good street and novice track pad, but for proper track use these cars definitely want a dedicated track pad and the DS3000 is a compatible compound that performs really well.

As with all BBK's having proper pads is going to make or break the kit. For the proper track junkie having a dedicated set of track pads is the only way to go, but also for street use to not run track pads on the street as they are too abrasive and wear rotors far faster than street pads.

At this pricing the bang for buck is huge! The range of use, capability and weight savings of these BBK's eclipses many other offerings...

Alcon Calipers - Lightweight six pot caliper is a single piece aluminum Monoblock design which results in an extremely lightweight caliper. This bridge over one piece design has been used to maximize rigidity which results in enhanced pedal feel and overall braking performance. The caliper incorporates a progressive six piston setup that is matched to the B8 and B8.5 models to ensure proper brake balance is maintained and features high quality seals increasing resilience to road salts and other corrosive elements.

    Stock S4 Caliper ~ 18.25lbs
Alcon 6 Piston Monoblock Caliper ~7.25lbs
    Weight Savings ~ 11lbs!

Alcon Turbulator Rotors with Revo Upgraded Floating System - This BBK uses a true two piece floating disc and hat design to efficiently handle extreme heats while dissipating more effectively than other rotors available for these cars. The new floating system allows these rotors to handle even more heat that with previous iterations in a seamless and noise free manner. Other options do not offer the full range of floating, or floating at all, which is essential in hard use to keep rotors straight and true.

The friction surface on these Alcon rotors features crescent groves designed to increase initial bite and remove debris from the pad surface giving the perfect balance between brake feel and longevity as opposed to fully slotted discs which can increase pad wear greatly and cause heavy dusting. The discs features 252 individual directional internal cooling vanes that draw air from the center of the disc and pump that cool air outwards to maximize heat dissipation and minimize heat transfer to the calipers, pads and brake fluid, all of which plays an all important part in providing consistent stopping power for your vehicle while avoiding heat related fade or warping.

    Stock S4 Rotor ~ 23.75lbs
    Alcon 380mm Turbulator Rotors ~16.9lbs
    Weight Savings ~ 6.85lbs!

Weight Savings and Unsprung Weight - Every piece of this BBK saves weight which yields a lower unsprung weight that translates to a crisper steering feel and helps to alleviate forces acting upon the suspension during compression and rebound allowing the suspension to work more effectively.

Alcon has been producing world class braking components for decades and now you can have the same performance used on racecars for the street and the track where this BBK will perform equally well.
