While driving my A4 through Tahoe, I hit black ice on the way to Reno and lost control of the car. I hit the center divider, but no damage on my car (I seriously thought she was totaled).
Later, while driving through Truckee, the car died on me completely. I was able to shift into gear, but nothing happened when I'd try to accelerate. Just an ugly crunching sound.
I had it towed all the way back to Serramonte Acura, because the warranty stated I could only have it serviced through them. When I got there, I found out the warranty was 6 months OR 6,000 miles. They basically told me to go *** myself because I was a few hundred miles over.
I ended up having it towed to JHM, and those guys have been amazing (I'll give you an update when I get Audrey back).
When I bought the car, it had a clean carfax report, however, I was told it looked like it was in a major accident prior, and someone worked on it but never put it back together.
So basically, it wasn't that I hit black ice and lost control, the car fell apart on me while I was driving.
My question is this; should I pursue legal action against the Acura dealership? My Audi is amazing and I love it, but it's had issues since the day I bought it. I'm not upset with Audi, but I think the Acura dealership should be held responsible for their mistakes.
Any thoughts?
