It's not a regularly replaced consumable. $70 for a couple times in the life of a car isn't too bad. At least it's not like paying for those damn urea refills on new diesels.

The middle differential is very debatable since it uses a different fluid. Essentially Audi puts fluid with a little higher friction coefficient in it to make sure there no slipping. I have no idea how that would help though and haven't had any problems with the quattro system using the Redline for all three.
Good to hear that it helps with Quattro rumble. Maybe I should hasten and priortize this bit of maintenance in my upcoming schedule. Come to think of it, I'm going to do 1 differential per week to see if there are individual effects. Will start with the rear, then front and finish off with the expensive stuff.
