I'm sure there varying opinions on the tranny flush etc but I haven't done any of it and I'm at 169.5k and the reason why is because a good friend of mine who is a audi tech has told me it wasn't necessary and he hasn't lead me astray before. I think unless you may be having shifting issues I would leave it. Though I'm sure other will chime in saying that it needs to be done.

I am in the same situation. I have never changed the tranny or diff fluid in the car. I look at it like this.....
If you are the type to have changed it on the regular since the begining, then keep doing it. If, however, you are like Dutch and I and have not changed it, then dont. c@@kiemonsta is right in that the metal particles suspended in the fluid of a tranny that has not been changed regularly helps that tranny and changing fluid (removing the metal particals) can cause slippage and shifting issues.
My mechanic (who has worked on all of my cars) pulled a sample of my tranny fluid and advised against a drain, flush and fill for that exact reason. Did I shorten the life of my tranny by not flushing on a regular basis? Maybe. I will continue to run the car as it is and if/when the tranny goes bad, guess I will bend over and take it up the pooper on the rebuild.
