First of all if you're looking to save some money on a coolant tank, just get an A4 one, the only difference is the plastic elbow that connects to the rubber hose to dump coolant behind the heat shield in the engine bay, the tanks are stamped with the same part number and the elbow pulls out and you can put it in your new coolant tank. Saved $50 doing this.
I've got a bad cam seal on my left head, I had a bunch of 1.8t cam seals from gasket sets I've bought in the past and I know they're the same as the 2.8, well after installing it I noticed that there are quite a few variations in part numbers. The seal I used was a PTFE Victor Reinz seal for a 1.8t and isn't specc'd for a 2.7t S4 but it shows on ECS for a 2.7t A6, now I know they are the same engine, is there any reason for this or am I just being paranoid and this is all going to be just fine? The only reason I looked into it is because the seal I removed was a red/orange Victor Reinz seal and the new seal was all black.
