Sway bar / Control arms Opinions?

Let me start by saying I clearly have a problem...the mod bug bit early with my allroad and there is no cure in sight. Which isn't such a bad thing...except I'm running out of things to do.

Which leads me to this post. I'm thinking about swapping out my existing S5 sway bars and stock control arms for the ÜSS sways and control arms currently on sale at Eurocode.

Is this worth the cost to do? I have no issues currently with the way the allroad handles or known problems with the stock control arms.

    All opinions welcome.

hmm, you've got an alu kruez and S5 sways... have you done sway endlinks?

I would think you'd see more benefit with that considering your mods vs. getting 3mm thicker sways.

I would go with the EC bars...they are a significant increase in roll stiffness compared with the factory S bars....

You should ask yourself, what is the end result? Are you tracking? Are you driving back country roads spiritedly every weekend? Or, do you have money just burning holes in your pocket? If you believe the ROI is worth it, then do it. I plan on tracking the AR so upgrading from S5 sways (in your case) to beefier ones would be a no brainer.

Haven't done anything beyond the sways. Sway bars were one of the first things I did after getting the allroad. Since then I've pretty much forgotten about them.

I don't track the car. I do like to drive spiritedly frequently, particularly on the way to a day in the mountains skiing or mt. biking. I do have to admit that this is a bit of the "hole in the pocket" syndrome.

As I said above, I really don't have complaints per se on how the allroad handles. I do like to upgrade things and this seems like an upgrade that I would appreciate...

In general, stiffer sways work makes the car work better on smooth roads and worse on uneven roads. If you enjoy mountain roads, this might not be the right direction to go.

My HR kitted B7 did not like mid-corner bumps and frost-bitten roads were the worst.

Thanks for the info! I hadn't considered that aspect of stiffer sways. Does the same apply with an upgrade to the end links?

End links just connect the bar more solidly to the suspension. Removes slack and give so it might "feel" better and more precise.
