Tuning the intake sound (supercharger whine)

Many of us like the supercharger whine. I came across the following which details how the supercharger is silenced by Audi. Some of the things that CAI do to increase whine (eliminate the broadband damper on the intake tube) are obvious. However the presence or possible removal of the damping plate and insulating mats are interesting propositions. What are everyone's thoughts? I might try this.

Sound is vibration so removing anything that reduces vibration and you will increase noise.
Personally I'd just use a less restrictive inlet and remove as many bends from it as possible to hear more of the supercharger.
The dampening material might also be there to protect bearings in the supercharger from engine vibration.
