    Standard/Luxury vs. Sport Seats

I'm in my first month of Audi ownership and am quickly learning the highs and lows that come along with it. For what it's worth, I picked up a grey(ish) one-owner 2000 C5 2.7t tip with 80k on the OD. I would say cosmetically it's in as good a shape as a a 16-17 year old car can be. I bought it for $4k with the only know issue being a FUBARed EVAP system (not sure if this is what Audi calls it), I can live with a check engine light. Other than that I'm working through checking on the mechanical side of things and gathering parts to dig in and replace the TB. So far, so good.

Getting to the question that drives the title of the thread, the car is my daily driver and the wings on the sport seat makes my rear end feel like I'm sitting in a narrow feed trough. I was an offensive lineman in college and while I shed the weight shortly after I graduated, wide hips last forever. Is there any way the wings can be adjusted? Failing that does a swap for standard seats make sense?

Finally, I've been really impressed by the community owning this car has exposed me too. I came here looking for information on the timing belt and keep coming back because of the cool stuff people are doing with these cars.

you could possibly take the seat out, remove the skin and bend the wings outwards to make it a bit wider, they are simply a pretty thick metal rod bent in a shape of wing. You might even have luck bending them with a good kick/pushing with legs etc without removing anything off the seat . I would never change back to "comfort" seats because the sport seats are actually more comfortable, as crazy as it sounds. Something with more foam in sport seats it seems.

The likely cause of an evap check engine light (P0441) is the purge control valve for the charcoal canister. The charcoal starts to degrade over time and works its way up into the valve and gums it up. The simple solution is to replace the valve and put a small filter upstream of it to catch the gunk. There's a thread on here somewhere about how to do it.

Sell or trade out the seats ( if they are the sport versions)

haha, that would be a swap of century , I ended up tossing my "comfort" (an oxymoron imho) seats out in the dumpster after I got sport seats. There is simply no comparison and it is obvious which set should be called "comfort sport" and which "flat crap"

Don't think trading is in our future, mine are onyx or tungsten. Definitely not black.

Audi only made light grey and a super dark grey. Unless you have light grey then you both have soul black.
