VW 502 spec - 0w/40 Okay?

I find it hard to find VW 502 spec oil. Mobil 1 has VW 502 but only in 0w/40 weight. So,

1) Is that okay to use in that the manual calls for 0W/30?

B) Does anyone know why only Mobil 1 0W/40 satisfies the VW 502 spec, not the other weights?

Edit: Change manual spec from 5w/30 to 0w/30.

search this site and find the official list of 502 spec oils, its really not hard to find them. Here in colorado Napa sells liqui moly 5w-40 which is my personal flavor, and i know carquest carries pentosin. Im sure you can find a store around you that carries something. that being said, many people run the mobil 1 0w-40 with no issues.
