Top cap for a front Bilstien Adjustable shock. Where can I get one or does anyone have one off of a blown shock that I could buy from you. I just bought this set from someone on the board and its missing. Does anoye know if Bilstein sells just that part?

Damn, what does that part do exactly? Maybe you can just use something else in it's place?

I bet you can make something. Like use a cap from a can of spray-paint lol. I'm not kidding. I don't think that part does anything but protect the shock from getting dirt in there.

Also how are those adjustable? Are you talking about setting them up on different perches?

Yea, red..I was thinking the same thing...On the other hand you can clearly see where something has been touching or pressing againt it..Would it be wise to try and weld say... a thick washer to the shock body? It cant movre or it will scratch up the shaft...killing the shock in no time. What do you think?

go to home depot, or if you cant find something there, have a shop custom fabricate you that piece...should be cheaper than buying a new one all together.

I would say do what he^^^ said. Also keep in mind there is a cover for that part of the shock that you will transfer from the stock setup.

wouldn't the spring go a little lower? say, maybe where the grooves are in the body?

the bumpstop sits on that missing piece. that piece is plastic on most struts. a delrin, mylon, or uhmw fender washer would do the trick.

Alright..now I am a lil scared....Just got off the phone with Bilstein...New part on the way. Sweet!...BUT! is this my manufacturing number for my car (circled) the lady on the phone scared me when she said that the shocks I have are wrong becuase its a 2001 (something about being a crossover year)..I told her this number on the inside of the door 05/00 and am hoping its the month and year of my car born date. So is it? IF so I am all good and the shocks will fit. Please tell me good news...thanks, Chris
