I just added the Spulen turbo inlet hose. It's larger in diameter and gets rid of the crisply accordion plastic inlet hose.

    Stock vs Spulen

    Installed on the car

Does it have a flex point in it anywhere, that's the point of the accordion part in the stock piece.

There is plenty of play in the intake. The airbox moves when pushed and pulled on the hose.

Have you modified the intake pickup area yet. I opened up the blocked section directly in front of the air box on top of the core support. I don't know if it makes any power but I could hear the difference. I also pulled out the snow screen section.

Just doing a lot of R&D. Getting my car Friday. I'm looking at apr hose kit. Turbo muffler delete. Diverted valve upgrade. Temped by apr but a piggyback is better for warranty if they can be installed easy.

Not yet. I will be looking into that as well. I live in the north where we have snow, so, I am not sure that's a good idea. I might get a ton crud on the K&N filter.

Installed kn filter and removed rain tray in bottom of air box. Still waiting on hose. Car is definitely more responsive. When I install hose will also be doing Go fast bits diverter valve. Then tune if available

That's exactly what experienced. I recently removed the rain tray and added the Revo Carbon fiber intake scoop as well as the Spulen silicone intake tube and K&N and the car is world of difference over the stock car with APR stage 1 ECU and TCU tune.

I love the tune. It's freaking fast now. The DSG tune makes driving it better as well. "D" mode is actually more usable than stock. In Sport mode it pulls like a freight train. APR intercooler is ordered and I will eventually get a downpipe and go Stage 2.

I ordered the go fast bits diverter valve +. APR doesn't support my ecu yet. Hopefully in a few weeks. Will put spulen hose on tomorrow.

Tune is in. Ordered afe intake. My Installer didn't recommend changing the valve. So I returned it. 034 dog bone mount up next. Down line the intercooler.

Did you go with APR tune? Did you get a DSG tune as well? How do you like it so far?

Apr stage 1 high torque. Every time I drive it feels faster. D in dynamic is quick. S in dynamic is nice but I feel I need this dogbone insert. I'm not going to do dsg tune.

With the APR stage 1 high torque tune, your DSG may start to slip without the DSG tune. More slipping = more heat = more wear on the transmission. Just an FYI... Have fun with your tune.

Really? Haven't heard of that before. I heard high torque tune was a concern for other platforms with a manual transmission.

20 lb difference should not be a concern. Not drag racing the car.

Not saying it is going to happen. But others have experienced it, hence the low torque option.

Personally I think transmission tuning is just another add on. For tuners to make money.

World of difference driving in D mode. That's for sure. It doesn't shift to 6 th by 40 and downshifts properly based on throttle for acceleration. It keeps it in the powerband, yet still gets good gas mileage. Then adds extra clamping power for the high torque shifts. The ecu tune gives power/torque, but the DSG tune gives better overall drivability. If transmissions weren't slipping they would only have the high torque tune.

Well I think it's only an add on. These so called transmission tunes only came about recently. It also only seems to be a Audi/Vag thing.

It for sure has its benefits but not needed with this transmission at these levels, the options are for the 6sp folks more than us.

Audi/Vag seems to have the most neutered throttle response I have experienced in D mode from automatic transmission from other manufacturers. Then the shifts are like at 2200 rpms.

I did it for the shift points and throttle response in D mode. Extra clamping is an extra benefit, imo.
