    Homelink Issues with 2011 Q7 and 2005 A4

I have two Liftmaster garage door openers model 8550 that I purchased in 2013 and 2014. Prior to being an Audi owner it was very easy to program my 2013 and 2014 Nissan's. Unfortunately, it is not easy to program my 2005 and 2011 Audi's.

I have followed the instruction manuals and You Tube videos as well as the procedures on the Homelink and Liftmaster websites to no avail.

I clear the Homelink until the rapid flashing. I select one of the buttons to program (it always flashes very slowly right away), then get in front of the vehicle and aim it where the manual tells me (under the headlight on the passenger side). I hold down the remote button and cannot get the vehicle to flash the hazard lights. I have tried this too many times to count and am just about ready to give up.

Apparently I may need to buy compatibility bridge from Liftmaster to solve this issue.

Can you folks please weigh in as to what I am doing wrong and/or let me know if using the compatibility bridge will solve my problem for these two vehicles?

Here is an update on the original posting. My garage door guy came by today and installed a repeater and easily programmed both vehicles. For free no less. I guess that is a perk for doing all my business with one company that offers great products and services. If you live in the Toledo area I highly recommend Toledo Door and Window.

Even though my garage openers were installed in 2012 and 2013 my 2011 and 2005 Audi's could not link with them without installation of the repeater. You can buy them online for less than $25 if you have the same problem I had.
