Audi (s4 b6) unreliable in hot humid sea climate?

    Hi, i'm new here.

After a long search (all over the world) I finally found a low mileage (little over 70000 Kilometers) S4 b6 in great condition.

The thing is I live in aruba, hot humid salty air.
I spoke to a mechanic and he said audi's are horrible in our climate and unreliable.

I know the sun and salty air is devastating on paint, interior, rust etc.
Also I know about power loss due to hot air.

But my question is are audi's really that unreliable mechanically in this hot sea climate.
What is the effect of the climate on the other parts like engine/transmission and what would you guys recommend to keep the car in the great mechanical shape it is in now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the mechanic is painting in very broad strokes. humid is not an issue. there are plenty of these in Texas and Arizona. if you wash it regularly and hose down the underside you should not have to much rust issues. that being said, im not sure how many specialty mechanics you have in your area that can work on such a car.

become your own Audi mechanic for your car and use the forum to fix anything that breaks. problem solved. :)

Of course I will do as much as I can myself, but i'm hardly a qualified mechanic. And I think the S4 is not the best choice to start my career as mechanic.
We have an Official Audi dealer/service center here. So fixing is not the problem.
But I prefer to prevent as much as possible. I was just wondering if it's true that Audi's are not that reliable in this climate and what known problems there are with this car in sea climate and what to measures to take to prevent these problems.
I find strange that an audi would do worse than any other brand in sea climate. Seems to me that any car would suffer the same but I have no experience with audi.

I live by the ocean in the middle east and have not had any issues with the heat or high summer humidity.

I live in south East Florida. Fairly similar climate. No problems other than rapid heat soak. Intake manifold spacers and gutted piggies definitely helped.

Wash it regularly and you should be find.

Surprisingly, despite how they managed to shoe-horn a V8 in these cars, the coolant systems are very good. My RS4 has had no issues in the Arizona heat even with temps getting above 115, and the a/c blows cold the whole time.

4 years in Tucson followed by 2-1/2 years on the North Florida coast: aside from my license plate frame corroding, no humidity related issues here.

I will add that after a medium drive, the hood of that S/4 will be so hot. You can fry an egg on it. After my daily drives, I always open the hood to air it off.
Long term, I don't want all the plastic connector to become brittle due to all the heat cycles.

Ok thanks guys, and heat soak doesnt have any damaging effects on the engine, only a loss of power, right?

The heat will checker the paint on the hood.
I had to paint it after 8 years as it looked bad
