Im not sure whats going on with my car. It feels good until 35-40mph and then feels slow again until 80. the best zero to sixty I got was 6.4 and I know it should be about a second faster. is my second gear messed up? Runs good except at full throttle. seems that the transmission wont engage at full throttle but feels faster when I go from half to almost full really quick. Help please!!

Sorry off topic but in ur sig u say 2008 slobalt, are you reffering to a 2008 cobalt ss turbocharged?

How does it compare to your s4?

Just wondering, a busdy from my work drives one and has problems with it all the time with only 70k on the clock

No is a base. hence the name "slobalt" I call the ss ones "Super Slobalts"
But compared to my Grand prix with the supercharged 3800 the s4 seems slow. The best time i got in the gtp was 6.1 0-60 and i did a huge burnout and still went that fast. and on the midrange and top end it would spank the S4. My gtp isnt modded much but I feel that stock for stock the S4 is 5.4 0-60 and gtp 6.7 0-60 even if i modded the gtp the s4 and its awd should be faster.

Hmm, have you scanned car with vag com? Other obd2 readers wont show certain codes. I had this same problem wheni bought car. It felt slow and would check and the car had no codes according to autozone. Then finally checked woth vag com and i had an egt code that put me in limp mode.

    What psi are you hitting?

yeah it is a tip. and I have vag and scanned it and its showing peak boost at 9.6 psi. and it has a nice arc with no spikes in boost.

That sounds about normal tbh boost and 0-60 times. Ive read the tips to be a full second slower then the 6 speeds. (They get shitty launches cause you cant just rev and drop clutch.) Plus they weigh more and have more drivetrain loss then a 6 speed..

Go get a stage 1 tune or a exhaust and stage 2 tune and youl love the car. It adds a good 75hp and 100 ft/lbs of torgue

i hope its just that it needs a tune but if the trans is going out im screwed.
I have xs power exhaust and drilled holes in the airbox and got a k&n drop in filter. so I hope it is good enough to get a stage 2 tune

Imnot positive on anyhting to do with these tip transmissions i drive manual cars only but you do have a good point it could be transmission related. Do the rpms jump up without increasing speed as if its slipping? Or does it juat not feel like it has alot of balls?

As for stage 2 all you need is exhaust. And its highly recomended to upgrade ur divertetlr valves. I personaly like forge 007s or the new 008. But they have a cheap plastic bosche alternative. I belive its the 710n or somehting like that. Hopefully some one will chome in

There are times where i floor it and the revs go way up and i only gain like 5mph and i let go. It always drives better whern i ease down on the throttle.

Check and log your throttle percentage. I had a similar issue with one of my jettas. Stage 3 hitting 20 lbs of boost but slow as hell. My fuel pump was on its way out and was pulling the throttle back when the car wasn't getting enough fuel.

I have a leak in my gas tank. Would this mess with it if its hard to keep pressure in the fule system?

It could throw off fuel trims with the n80, it shouldn't mess with actual fuel pressure at all though.

Trying to get my buddies A6 ready for emissions right now, so trust me.. lol. OP, do you have emissions testing in your state? I don't know anything about Minnesota's laws with that. if you don't, do the delete and rip that crap out of there. Especially if you don't have any cats in your downpipes.

No one care about emissions here. people run decated things and no emmisions all the time. But I found that my fuse for the air pumps by the ecu is blown (again) i replaced it and a couple weeks later I got the code again.

I would way rather just delete my evap system. i have a leak somewhere in it and it is being a bitch to find.

Delete the Evap system but leave the n80 (electronic solenoid) plugged in. Cap the lines on the fuel rail to prevent boost leaks.

Have you ever felt a clutch slip or transmission slip. From your description watch some youtube videos, sounds like its slipping. There is a linear relationship between rpm and speed when in a specific gear. If your rpm's come up real quick and you dont go no where there is an issue.
