    Which valves are closed?

    Hey everyone,

Sorry but I have a somewhat noob question about these motors. I pulled my manifold and looking at the intake vales, it looks like 5 of them are closed and 3 are at differing amounts of open. All of the right cylinders 1-4 look closed, where as 8 and I think 5 and 6 are at least partially open.

Does this make sense or do I actually have more intake valves open than I think? For some reason it's not what I expected and want to make sure I have it right just in case. From searching other posts it looks like the firing order is 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2 but I couldn't really find info about which intake valves are open when.

Yup, that's how it should be.

Hmm ok, thanks. For some reason, given the firing order I would have expected cylinder 3 to be partially open instead of 5 but maybe I'm not thinking about it correctly.
