    Window switch bezels

Mine are completely beat and I'm thinking of pulling them and just stripping them to the bare plastic. Has anyone else done this? Or will I definitely want to repaint them with something?

    UPDATE 1:
Decided to pull the front passenger door and give it a go. I put a little bit too much elbow grease into removing the rubberized paint and started getting to the bare plastic in places (the mold isn't dyed black, the surface is black and then coated with the rubberized paint). I had some Rust-oleum Camo paint sitting around so I tried that out. It looks good, but I'm not a fan of the feel. I'm going to go and pick up some matte clear coat to see if I can add some smoothness to the finish. Anyways, here's a progress pic:

    UPDATE 2:
I tried a matte clear coat and didn't like how it looked. I got rid of the matte clear and just finished the black by wet sanding with 3000 grit. I think it turned out pretty well paired with some cheap window switches!

I did it with mine. Looks very good, a few shades darker than the rubber paint.

What color? ECS was selling off the platinum (gray) ones for .99 a while back.

I have previously done this on my VW Golf. I rubbed off the soft coating with Scotchpad and Goo Gone and I then wrapped the pieces in 3M vinyl with brushed aluminum look. It looked awesome and everyone thought I bought a real brushed aluminum trim. It's easy to do with patience.

Found the pics from the Golf project:

I ended up doing 3-4 coats of Rust-oleum Camo paint followed by a bit of 3000 grit wet sanding. See first post for photo goodness.

That looks good! Nice job. I may try that paint whenever I get a mesh grill for the front. It looks like a nice matte black.
