04 2.7 all road transmission issues

Hello All,

Having some issues. No check engine light.

Symptoms:

1. If I stop to fast at light/stop sign/etc. the car feels like it wants to stall. It actually has a couple of times.
2. hard shifts typically more so when engine is cold.
3. some times I feel like it goes into a gear and quickly shifts to another gear
4. couple of times on dash the PND5432 would flip to showing 54321 - it would keep flipping back and forth between those two. Once I turn car off and then get back in later it appears to have cleared itself
5. I have noticed if I back out of parking spot and go to put in Drive there is a slight hesitation. Not to bad but it is there.

I believe these are all the symptoms.

Have you ever done a transmission oil and filter change? Or know of when it was done? Could be low on fluid or to much. Also the dash flashing back and forth between PND5432 and 54321 is common mine does that has something to do with the magnet sensor on the shifter

I am not sure if the transmission oil and filter have been changed. Definitely something to try. Thank you

Agree with fluid and filter change especially the filter since if it becomes stopped up ( years of service will produce a lot of "debris") the transmission will hesitate going into gear or slip changing gears because the pressure needed to apply the next clutch pack isint readily available ect. The stalling at lights is likely the same issue but indicates the possibility of a converter problem as well. Start with the filter and fluid and see if it gets better. Worst case maybe the change will buy you some time if you need to get funds together before it goes.
