and i have the radio connected and working, however i cannot get it to connect to vcds to code in the ext source for some reason. ch 17 can see it, however i get no response from controller. i plug in my old radio and vcds can see it just fine. do any wires need to be changed in order for it to connect to vcds?

if you're unable to connect via VCDS, then the k-line pin/wire is likely in the wrong position, possibly because the harness you have is for a RNS-E (or maybe just miswired?) Check the pinout for the stock radio and ensure that the k-line wire from the vehicle harness/plug (C3) is connected to the correct spot on the SII+ (C7).

made the proper changes and now i cant connect to any module with vcds :(

im not sure exactly where i could have gone wrong. lol things are just worse now.

im sure it has something to do with the kline communications. i thought it was my port, but i am able to scan with a generic obd scanner.

i moved the wire coming from the kline position on the s2 (which i believe was going to a bose position on the s2+) and pinned it to c7 (the kline position) on the quad lock connector.

From the K line in the mini ISO connector on the chassis wiring harness end must connect to the k line in the quadlock connector end of the harness adapter. If none of the modules can be accessed now, then the K line must be misconnected, maybe shorting the K line to chassis ground.
