Folding top fixes? What was the issue on yours?

I have having top issues and I'm curious to know what the most common problems and fixes are? Mine has a top that won't go up or down on it's own. The wings go up and it latches and unlatches and I can hear the hydraulics trying to do something. I'm out of warranty so I'd like to be able to check something for a problem before I head to a shop for repair.

You need to run vag com on it to know where to start.

Had several top issues. Ended up going to multiple shops. Best shop to go to is one where they service other TTs - maybe an affluent area. Motors that work the top had to be replaced twice but now works very reliably after upgraded design OEM motor with as installed.
