    It is 40% more better air flow then stock
    Cant argue with facts likes its "more better".

    Why not just buy an eBay FMIC??

    Then, if you want 400 HP, you can upgrade the core to a treadstone unit for 200 bucks.

    Well I went in the SMIC direction because I don't plan on investing the time & $$ needed to get to 400hp for quite a while. A modest 220hp would be fine. I planned doing the DV, injectors, hfc, and maybe exhaust with a 1+ tune and stick with that for a year. I wanted an easy simple, no trimming needed install for my IC. I'm mad Boost Factory & TyrolSport pretty much stopped making their SMIC (anytime you price your SMIC at $800, you've pretty much stopped making it IMO)

    Well I had an ebay FMIC on my last A4 and my current one also has an eBay FMIC (EMUSA). Perfectly fine, and a big improvement over the stock SMIC, for a stage 1+. If you decide to upgrade to a bigger turbo and are aiming for that 400 HP range, your eBay piping is perfectly fine and you just upgrade the core.

    I couldnt imagine a better plan that is cost efficient. Also, there is no trimming or modifying needed to install a FMIC.

    Hmm that's good info. I have an USP a4. The lower grille inserts would fit back in no problem?

    Yup, mine fit fine. Although mine is a non USP with a USP valance. I dont have the center grill because it costs too damn much but you can see there is plenty of clearance.

    old guy: how's the SMIC working for you? Still considering the Apikol for wife's avant since I have stolen it as of late. Been my daily. Need turbo first cause its got that awesome drill sound

    It's been quite entertaining! Dave@Motoza has tweaked it a little more since then and now I'm typically seeing a maximum MAF of 226→228 g\s. I'm just leaving everything alone now and enjoying it as a perky daily driver.

    that's how its supposed to be! I haven't touched my car (still parked for over a yr now) but enjoying the white avant with the few mods I have done. only issue is the turbo has 185k on it and its making a good noise and some puffs after long idles. I have looked into FT to GTRS to a custom Elim setup. Unsure of what to go towards, but all mods will require a larger SMIC. I doubt the wife will actually benefit from a FMIC.

    Im using Apikol SMIC and GTRS setup. Motoza dialed in the tune. Been happy with the setup.

    Just took off my Apikol SMIC, PM me if interested. Only been on the car a year, maybe 5k mi. Also, selling my F21 turbo (no manifold). Upgrading everything to support a GTX2863
    An Audi B6 Rally car would be awesome!
