    When to change motor mounts?

My 2004 S/4 will be headed for a full timing service . My question is, since the car has 105K, should I be proactive and change out the motor mounts too?
At the moment, I'm also having the starter, water pump and thermostat, plugs, air filter and paint work on the roof and rear hatch repainted. I figured might as well since its going to be at my local Audi dealer.
    So motor mounts- change out?
    Thanks for your assistance.

i'll be facing a similar choice this year and will probably do the mounts as well. it seems like a good idea when it gets northward of 100,000mi on a large, powerful engine. if it's a manual, you could always do the old mount test of watching the motor while a friend stalls it out; if it seems to buck violently then it's time for new mounts.

if it needs to go into service position i would also be a good time to install an upgraded front snub mount and bracket, or even just replacing the OEM one. that makes quite a noticeable difference in shifting precision and drivetrain movement.

    Guy, thanks for your suggestions.
I guess new motor mounts will be added to the list of to do. My car is a tip and the wife drives it. I'm just being proactive so I don't get a call regarding issue.

    Enjoy your weekend
