    Crazy idea?

I have a 2011 s5 and I was just curious, the thought is always in the back of my mind. Would it be too much work and too much money for what I'm getting if I where to try and put an rs4 engine inside? Just very curious, thanks!

Better off just getting an APR supercharger than throwing an RS4 engine in it.

Have you done anything remotely like this sort of thing before? Not being patronizing but that sort of project is mostly about the challenge of doing it rather than the result, IMO. APR S/C is a better option as said, I've done a S/C install before but a modern engine swap...

The heads/cam would be interesting since that's where power comes from.

It would probably be an easier conversion if you went for the RS5 conversion, at least everything is available from a donor car.

You get a few more horses for you time and effort too.

You can go turbo or supercharger on the RS4 platform

Is there room in the S5 chassis/engine bay for a turbo? Would be an interesting conversion.

So head bolts and chambers wont line up? If they do bolt on, why not run the RS intake manifold and exhaust. I'm surprised no Tuners haven't tried mocking this up with old parts..

Cheaper to sell your car and buy the RS4. Conversions are only cost effective when you are working on old muscle cars with no computer equipment.
