Angry a4 b5 atw engine rear main seal leaking bad!

I recently replaced my turbo, all belts, timing set, oil pump, oil pump gasket, valve cover gasket and all hoses. I was test driving it and I kept noticing oil spots on the floor and the puddle has kept getting larger...I looked up in the bell housing of the transmission (auto) and there is oil everywhere so I assume its the rear main seal leaking (170,000 miles). Do I remove the transmission to replace the seal or would it be easier to remove the engine and replace it? It is a Quattro Avant.

It's usually faster to remove the trans. While you have it out, replace the front seal on the trans too.

I had a similar problem. My engine overheated. I had http://www.bestjapaneseengines.com/ rebuild the whole motor for me. They have state-of-the art machine shop !

I spent about $1000 less than what I would have ended up paying to the dealer !

Although they specialize in JDM engines but they also Rebuild Audi engines.
