The following is my take on the JHM Stage 3 turbo kit. It took me almost 6 months to pull the trigger on this kit. I have owned my B7 for six years and have slowly modified it over the course. I have been Stasis stage 1 since the day I bought it. My experience and background. I have owned my own euro shop for 5 years, before than I worked for Audi as a Master tech. So keep in mind when I talk about the ease of this kit.
Ok to the point. Again after six months of thinking about what turbo kit to go with I finally decided on this kit. Reasons being: 1. I have many other JHM products on my car and lets be honest they build good solid products 2. The kit seemed simple and straight forward 3. Dru at JHM has always gone above and beyond to always help me. (keep in mind guys who work at speed shops get the typical questions like how can I make my car make 2000whp, so it is always nice to have his help) 4. I must repeat the kit seemed simple.
Order was placed and I received my package withing a matter of a couple days. Keep in mind they are in Cali and I am in Utah. Everything came in one solid box along with the big FMIC. Whoever is in their shipping department knows how to ship a package. Literally that guy should get an award or the new 15 hour min wage Cali is mandating. It took me awhile to unpack everything. Next I did what I wouldn't have done when I was 18. I actually went through and made sure every part was there and marked it off the item list off of jhm's website. I had everything. I read over all the instructions on install. At this point I am feeling amped. Turned on my Pandora and it was go time. Removed my bumper, put car into service position, drained my fluids, removed old parts. That took maybe a couple of hours. Now it was time to install all the new stuff. I tried to follow the instructions to a T and not let my Male gene take over. Honestly the instructions are great and well written. Everything went together perfect due to the fact that JHM puts together great products and great instructions.
Now with everything on it was time to fire it up and check for leaks. Fired it up and surprisingly no issues. I messaged Dru the good news and since he and I had a deal he remote accessed into my computer and installed their flash cable and performed my tune while I was working on another part of the car. (sometimes flash cables can be a pain to get working properly)
Ok time to go take it around the block. Take the car out of the garage and go put a few miles of babying on it, bring it in recheck for leaks and codes, everything is good. At this point I get the OK from Dru to start doing some slight pulls. DAAMMMMMMMM the car is a new beast. I tried to do my best to do SLIGHT pulls. Now its time to get on her hard. 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear, this car won't stop pulling hard. I literally am smiling from ear to ear. My car is now what I always wanted it to be. A couple days later I have a drive where I am beating a stock b8 s4, beating a stock bmw 335, barely losing to a apr stage 2 b8 s4, and beating stage 2 mk5, mk6 gtis.
I have now put 500 miles on the kit and I extremely happy with the kit. NO leaks, no issues, just pure fun. I haven't had a chance to go dyno it or run a quarter mile time, but here in the upcoming months I will. My hat is off to JHM and a big thanks to DRU over there for allowing me to bug him and tease him all hours throughout the night.
