    No pollen filter?

So I was under the hood and pulled back the rain guard and looked into the intake duct of the cabin air inlet. To my surprise, after the plastic large hole screen on top on the inlet, there was no filter. I could see the blower motor clear as day. That doesn't seem right. I wnet to my local dealer and asked for the filter and they could only come up with a part number for the cabin air filter, which is behind the dash, after the blower motor. They said there is no filter there which seems crazy.

Can anyone confirm? If you do have a filter there, could you please post a picture or a part number?

    Thanks in advance.

Doesn't look like there is a filter under the hood. Only the cabin air filter.

    This may help... http://parts.audiusa.com/a/Audi_2013...N/1353135.html

Thanks, That is the diagram we had pulled up but it doesn't show the intake side under the hood really. I guess maybe there really isn't one but it seems odd as stuff could get right into the blower.

In certain countries there is a pre-filter as you described. I think the China version has it. I believe it can be retrofit but requires other trim parts.
