So i grabbed a cheap glowshift boost gauge for my car a few weeks ago. I dont want to buy a vent pod so im going to cut one of my vents and fit it in nicely. How do you guys get it to stay in place there though i dont want it to spin around or pop out. I want it to be pretty clean looking and like an oe finish.

I traced the boost gauge onto the vent and then got some files. I kept test fitting till it was pretty tight. didn't use anything to tie it down and it still has yet to ever fall out. I used the middle left vent.

Same here. Press fit. I bought some vents off eBay for cheap so it would be alright if I messed one up.

Epoxy. Then I painted the whole vent black.

Remove the vent and put it in a drill press. Use 2" holesaw. Perfect fit.

Used it in my aem afr gauge. I'm honestly surprised the vent didn't explode.

It would probably be wise to build a little jig to do this as well. I've used this method twice and one time it ripped the vent out of my hand.

That's the one! Works great for the price. Certainly wouldn't use it on my big drill press, but works awesome on the smaller one!

did anyone ever tell you that just adding a boost gauge will in fact make your car slower?

having a gauge jutting out your air vent is the look that all OE manufacturers are going for

A lot of good recomendations. Having the gauge is more for telling if the car is running right. Im having an issue were my car is falling on its face after 4k rpms.

Thought the same until I had one. Keeps all the gauges in one central location which I like. Had one on my B5 and bought another one when I got my B7 because I liked it enough.

I have afr on a column pod and boost in the left vent. Hate the vent pod. It looks meh imo and it reflects off the glass right where the side mirror is. I'm going to be buying a dual column pod at some point but they are pretty expensive.

That's actually pretty cool. Obviously you left the drivers vent for comfort but personally I would have put the gauges on the drivers side of those 3. Did that make sense? Haha
