    2017 R8 V10 plus questions

Just ordered a black V10 plus. Having hard time deciding on interior stitching? Since calipers are only available in silver, was thinking silver, but could go black or red? When you have full leather package, is stitching color chosen applied to steering wheel also? Got diamond 18 way seats.

I hate the look of the 20" mesh wheels, so ordered the 19", guess I could go aftermarket later, and use 19's for winter tires.

Can you specify tire brand with Audi? I hate P Zeros, low grip and life, want Michelin PSS.

    Thanks for any input

Unfortunately I've found the R8 forums here to be pretty dead chief. You might want to consider posting this at 6speedonline as well. That's a pretty fantastic car you have on order. Congrats. PSS are the go-to tire, but if they are available in your size, Conti Extreme DW are also pretty decent. Hard to beat the PSS, though, despite the fact that they can sometimes be hard to find.

For cars that need big Meat in the rear like Vipers ect... I always swap out to Nitto NT5/NT1 after my power exceeds 600rwhp. Great value for the $$. And they last a long while. The $1,000 dollar burn outs gets old fast using PSS.

I'd lean toward the standard seat in the R8, but they don't offer the differ color stitching for it... Looks more at home in the R8. Matches anything and looks more sporty, but of course its your car so get what you like. Can't go wrong any choice you make.

On the Audi configuration the stitching on the doors changes with the seats and from a quick google for 2017 R8 steering wheels they have stitching shown in all colors the seats do so it would be safe to say they change as well.

Took a couple weeks to get info. Standard race seats are like a Ferrari medium, too small for me. The 18 way comfort seats have received great reviews. Stitching for the steering wheel is a $1000 option which I ordered.

I changed my order to Blue. Still upset that Audi has shown the new R8 in the USA with the black 20" wheels, which cannot be ordered, just the silver. Hopefully this will change in the near future.

I am looking into placing an order for a v10 plus soon, I think I will be going with the non race seats to get the full red leather.. For the wheels just get them powder coated

But what a PITA though! Wouldn't it be nice if Audi could just offer it? So many manufacturers offer black wheels now I am very surprised this isn't an option on the R8!

Just crazy they allow the black wheels to be ordered by Euro customers, but not U.S.? They not like U.S. customers for some reason? Europe gets the better shocks, black wheel option, and black grill option?

it has always been like that. For example my RS5 we could not even order the OEM Bucket seats or the DRC suspension. :(

Audi is now offereing a black optic package for the front grill which was designed in siver to match the uh other "black" lower grills lol. For U.S. customers you can order through Audi-OEM, plus installation.

I got the sport bucket seats since they look much nicer to me than the diamond stitched ones and they are awesome! The main downside I have is I did like the diamond stitching on the ceiling which you can not order unless you upgrade to the diamond comfort seats. Maybe for a price they might do it custom.
