Any c5 sedan guys running a cargo box?

Just curious, if any sedan guys have a cargo box. I'd be looking at an ultra low profile look, so probably something like an Inno shadowbox or thule flow

I've just never seen a c5 sedan with one and wanted to see some pics!

Like this? Yakima RocketBox 16 on Yakima base rack. It's not really a low profile box by comparison to some of the offerings out there but it works really well. Did not notice any aero effect on fuel or performance with either the A6 sedan or my current S6 Avant, however it you can feel it in big crosswinds or in the air wash from a transport going the other way.

    Current: 2012 Q7 Prestige 3.0T
Former: 2008 FSI V8 Touareg, Galpagos Grey Metallic on Sienna interior… self-immolated due to low pressure fuel leak on exhaust manifold
Former: 2002 S6, Silver on Silver Pearl w/ Alcantara insert.... stolen, used in a targeted gang murder and given a Viking funeral
    Former: 2000 A6 4.2L... killed by a distracted driver

    Exactly!

Now here's the real question, can you mount a box directly on the roof? I know that's not supposed to be how it works, but while I think the box looks super cool the gap between the roof and the box drives my ocpd wild.

No. Even if you were willing to cut/weld your roof to fab in mount brackets it wouldn't have the structural strength, it's just thin sheet metal after all.

That's sad. How do they mount them on supercars then? are they only mounted from those rear spoilers?

Anything is possible, with enough money. Look into "whispbars"

Low profile bars, not sure if someone figured out what works for the c5 yet tho, you could be the lucky one to figure it out for the rest of us! Lol jk. I've got a pair of OEM sedan roof racks I picked up for $50 used on CL, haven't had a box on there though, just snowboard/ski racks.

And I got this freebie from my ex's parents who were about to throw it out, power washed it, free period correct roof box for my daily accord wagon! Haha fits SO much stuff, this was before all the MPG hype...friggin hippies

I'll look into it! I'm serious, i thought it'd look super cool. And I'm not doing it for any sort of utility sadly so i'll be upfront haha I just thought the look would be awesome
