Remove airbag on S3 8v, 3 spoke steering wheel

    hello guys.

So i bought my dream car 1 month ago, an s3 limousine. I got the 3 spoke flat steering wheel but NO shift paddels. So i ordered one with shift paddels.

I need help with airbag. first step is to remove it. But i cant really understand how i do it. I have checked on Google, youtube and i found one guide here on Audizine who said that it has 3 white clips that i need to press.. But i cant find them .

A friend to me said that i have 2 screws. Cant see them either haha.

So i hope some of you could help me to start my work

i have added a picture of how my steering wheel looks like. *note i dont have the shift paddels haha

The air bag attaches by two sprung clips that are made from wire in a 'U' shape - the air bag pushes in and the wire clips hit a ramp in the steering wheel centre casting, spread wide and then spring back in over the ramp. You will see these clearly from the back of the wheel - just prise them apart one at a time whilst pulling the bag gently forward.

I would post a pic but don't know how to ;o(

If those are are the clips then at least that retention part is the same, the innards may be different

Use a screwdriver or similar and lever the clip (the wire) towards the centre of the wheel whilst gently pulling airbag away from wheel. So the wire will then pass through the slot and the airbag will release - do this at both sides.

I think it's market/country specific. In some countries even the FBMFSW is an option!
