my A4 B6 3.0 license lightning are both broken off. the question now is : 1/ should I replace it with oem and buy LED bulb for it or 2) should I just buy an LED replacement for it? does the LED replacement fit directly, snuggly on it ? any recommendation?

i got mine from ebay. i had to go to ace hardware to get a longer screw but besides that no problems 6 months later and vry bright, not blue either.

i think i offered him 13 or 14 bucks and he took it. probably can get a little cheaper from china but hes a usa seller so itll get to u in a few days vs a few weeks.

then just take one of the screws to the hardware store and find one a hair longer and install.

If you're going to replace the lights, you absolutely need to have the mounting screws in all the way, or else the lights wont work. I couldn't get the screws back in far enough and the contacts were in rough shape anyways. $75 at shokan got me the whole assembly used that looks brand new with the lights already installed.

hence why i got longer screws. its an aftermarket part for cheap so u cant expect perfection. the screw hole where the head of the screw sits was a hair too small. fix this by either grinding the hole a little bigger to fit the head or get a longer screw. i live in miami where it rains all the time and has like 100% humidy, no leaks, no fogging up, no errors, nothing.

im poor so i try to use the most budget friendly parts. just an option. spend 75 on license plate lights if you want lol.

I bought the one from amazon and it does not fit/seat into the well very good.

the clip with red highlight does not seat into the cut of the light well. if i push the light and get the clip seat in the light well, then the blue high light will miss the install hole. this is the XJDM light from amazon with 22 reviews and they said it work on A4 B6 but not in my case.

To address the seating issue that some of you are talking about. Usually the mounting point is all corroded and dirty. If you clean out the edges where the light is supposed to clip into you shouldnt have any fitment issues.
