After my 35k service dealer sends me suggestions for further service

I find this interesting. After my 35k service I get this in the mail and then later in email:

Your Audi is an engineering marvel designed to run at an extremely high level. Comprehensive maintenance is vitally important to help it operate at its best. That's why we're reminding you about the services recommended for your Audi A4 at your last visit:

    • Wiper Blades
    • Fuel Injection Service
    • Throttle Body Service

The first one is laughable but are the other two needed and if so why isn't it speced out as part of the 35k service?

Appreciate it. First I'd like to get feedback from others if this is even needed as I have my doubts

Your dealer is just trying to drum up some extra service business. They're just doing their job.

The fuel injectors can be cleaned using a bottle of VW/Audi Fuel System Cleaner. Buy one over the parts counter and dunk it in the gas tank next time you fill up. I do mine every oil change.

Throttle Body does not need servicing if not needed. If you car exhibits symptoms stemming from an issue with the Throttle Body then that's the time they do it. No harm in cleaning it but it's not necessary. If you want to DIY, there's lots of videos on YouTube you can watch concerning this subject. And, while you're at it, you might as well clean the MAF sensor body.

This is just a sales pitch from your dealer to try and get you to come in for shit you don't need. 35k miles? You need nothing but new plugs, oil, and filters.

Do a carbon clean around 75-100k miles, drain the tranny fluid around 60-75k (ZF8), change your oil, filters, plugs, and perform any updates Audi releases for stuff like the PCV and you're good.

The first one is not laughable. I'm at 33k and I'm still running the original wipers because I'm a lazy POS. The other two are simply recommendations. You will need them soon though. Vonn, what connections do you have? Are you referring to the free waters you get from the dealer which your mom leased her A4 from?

Replacing the wipers is a piece of cake. Ordered a set off Amazon & when they arrived I installed them on my lunch break.

I just meant it's an easily forgotten service if they are still doing their job. Thanks for the link, I just ordered a set.

Just curious which dealership this in LI. I keep getting a recommended brake service every time I come in, after I mentioned I feel a slight judder when braking after the huge snowstorm (car was parked for 3 weeks). After reading more into it, rotors were probably a little rusted, but everything is back to normal after using it more often again.
