    Looking for JHM Tune.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm trying to get the Stage I, JHM tune on my S4 but i'm not sure where a good reputable place is around my area. I was hoping that the good people on these forums knew a bit more then I do. I live in the NY area (upstate), and I just was curious if there was somewhere close that I could get the job done in a days drive. I don't mind driving a couple hours, make a day out of it. Any help would be appreciated!!

Also, I am moving to WV soonish as well, so if there was somewhere down in that area that someone knew about as well, just in case I wasn't able to get the job done prior to my move; I'd appreciate the info!

Thanks for the time and help!!

Any particular reason you are choosing to go the JHM route over others?

You can buy the JHM connector and tune it yourself! Just need a computer and Internet access...

    From there site:

For Flashing Method, select "Flash Myself, Cable Purchase Required" if you're going to be buying a cable from us and flashing your car on your own. You'll need to go back one section and add the JHM Tuning-Flashing Cable to your cart. Make sure you have THOROUGHLY read through the instructions and are confident that you can set your computer up correctly. If you select this option for your tune, you must select a shipping method for your order so we can ship you a JHM Tuning-Flashing Cable. Please select a shipping method once you've added the tuning and the flashing cable to your cart. Instructions for installing the flashing software on your computer will be emailed to you after purchase

Isn't the JHM tune the best one with the best gains? Or am I mistaken?

"best" is relative, but it depends on what your goals are. Most name brand off the shelf K03 tunes will run pretty similarly. If you are looking for something custom tailored, Daz has been offering custom tunes at a very reasonable price, plus you dont need to buy JHM's $150 cable that you will only use one time.

By EPL, you mean Excelerate Performance? I will definately look into them. Also, am I going the correct direction with JHM? I've done a lot of research and pretty much everywhere I look, I hear JHM is the best gains by far. Am I mis-informed? Thanks for the replies!! Also, if JHM isn't the direction I should go in, who is better/best?

no epl as in eurpean performace labs they do good. honestly your best bet would be to get a ebay vagcom cable and go daz tune, about the same price as others but can be revised for your car so as close to a custom tune without the dyno as you can get. pm me if you'd like more info

For stage 1 and stage 2 I'll never understand why people buy tunes. Nefmoto has plenty of decent options that are safe and make good gains

This is the first time I've heard of JHM blowing engines up. Is it drivers being complete rejects, or it is actually the tune that is causing the issue?

Daz or Blake Beadle IMO. I've dealt with both and they are awesome.

With little cost and a bit of effort you can make a Stage 1 tune that will show a decent bump up from stock. There's only so much that can be done with the stock components, no tuner has a secret formula for delivering performance the others can't duplicate. It comes down to how hard you want to push the components then picking a tune that fits with your goal.

I have nothing against anyone's tunes, I have used giac X chip, loved it.
I had the jhm tune with their manual boost controller, loved it... Much more aggressive and I would recommend having all the bolt ons
I'm currently getting my car tuned by Daz, stage 3, other than the issues I've ran into with my car, Daz has been awesome. I would recommend contacting him if your interested, otherwise roll the dice and pick one. I don't think any one is EPICALLY better than the other, I have a jhm flash cable and would offer to flash it for ya, but I live in socal.

Good luck with the choices, either way you'll be happy.
