    Low steady boost a problem

I just bought my first audi yesterday! It is a super clean 2003 Allroad Tiptronic. Today I grabbed my old Bluetooth obd2 reader from home to log on the way to work. I'm noticing tho that wot I'm reaching 5.2 psi max. It doesn't surge or go up and down it just goes to 5. What could be causing it to be half the stock boost that I've read I should have?

I'm using the torque android app if that makes a difference.

I may be wrong but you might be in limp mode for a few reasons.

I agree. 5psi is limp mode. So many things can cause this, although most likely boost leak or overboost.

In my S4 and my Allroad up stream o2's and inoperative/ intermittent EGT sensors caused both of my vehicles to go into limp mode.

I did have a pre-inspection done and they said the 3 pin temperature probes showed an open circuit I believe it was. When I scanned the car with my OBD2 now the codes are all gone so I believe they wiped the computer or is it that normal OBD2 don't pick up Audi codes. On my way home from work last night the ESP light came on a couple times flashing and/or staying on solid but then went away by itself. Could that have anything to do with it? And if it is in limp mode is there a way to kick it out of limp mode to see if it goes back into limp after? Tomorrow afternoon I'm tackling all the upper gaskets and seals that leak with the blauparts enhanced kit. Anything I should keep an eye out for? Or anything that those leaks could be causing issues with on the sensors themselves? Also last question sorry for being an askhole, but before I get everything opened up on the valve covers is it safe for me to try and spray down the back to clean up all the oil with a can of heavy duty Engine Wash?

Also the car does pull very good still which is why I hadn't thought of limp mode as being the culprit.

You need a scanner capable of reading those codes, a generic scanner won't work. I bought the xtool scanner and it works great. I bought new pcb's for both of my egt's for ~85 through sidmotorsport and. My car is out of limp mode.

Really? That's pretty cheap compared to the $950 that a shop wanted to charge me just for the sensors. How hard did you find it to replace? And also what is a good spot to tap into for a boost gauge?

The replacement was pretty straight forward, and there are a few good write ups on egt repair diy's. Most people will put a tee off a line some where off the intake like the fpr regulator line.
