Well gents, I do miss my RS, but I've officially moved on..

It's been a couple months, but I've officially been without the RS for awhile now. It has pained me, but it went to a good home and I'm happy that someone else can enjoy her in good health.

I've moved on, and the next car will be a '15 R8 V10+. It's not a manual, it's the S-Tronic. I do worry a bit that I'll sincerely miss the 6MT, but there simply wasn't much out there for the '14/'15 R8's. Many guys rave about the S-Tronic, and say it's an incredible driving experience. I actually have not taken delivery yet, as the car is not local to me, so I'll have to follow up with an actual review once I get a chance to drive her.

I know many of us talk about what could possibly replace the RS, but I'm pretty excited to experience the R8. It's a different category of car for sure, but really just a different driving experience altogether.

We shall see. Thanks a bunch to BadBlue for helping me out with the due diligence! Can't wait to get her!

Congrats and welcome to the Sepang mafia...my 15 S4 is Sepang and STronic. I love it more each day. Since I work for Audi...I have spent a decent amount of seat time in a V10 Plus w/ both gearboxes. I would not have chosen the 6 spd myself. I plan on picking up an 11 V10 fairly soon. They are fairly bulletproof cars . You won't miss the RS4 too much with the R8 as its replacement. Cheers !

Thanks! I am a little worried about the matte paint, as many guys with it have said it's incredibly high maintenance. We shall see. It sure looks killer today, hopefully I can keep it that way.

Good to hear about the S-Tronic gearbox. I must say this is a little worrisome as well, but I just think once I blip those downshifts my worries will go away.

Yeah, part of the reason I pulled the trigger. His mods are right in line with what I'd want to do. He built a hell of a car, that's for sure.

Aw very nice! Yeah, I was hell-bent on getting an updated body ('14/'15's), and so being particular on gearbox had to go out the window. It seems there are a lot of R8's on the market, until you start nailing down your 'must have' options, then the filter gets crazy.

Good luck in your search. Be patient and I'm sure you'll find one
