b8 2.0t marbles in a can noise from pulleys

    Hey everyone
Well I got home and my wife informed me the car is making a awful noise.
So I start the car, and I hear this pulley noise, kind of like marbles in a can. I think it's the tensioner but I can't find a diy on replacing it aswell as I figured the idler pulley. It is pretty loud and the tensioner does jump a little more then usaul. The noise gets worse as you go through the rpms.

So I have searched, and searched but I can't find a diy on this. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm gonna call the local parts store and try and get a idler and tensioner.

Remove the belt and check the pulleys by hand.
    You should meet the culprit.

Some people have reported this noise as a precursor to timing chain tensioner failure. please keep us posted if it turns out to just be a bad pulley bearing.

I had a whining noise on acceleration, rpm related. Finally found the culprit, Took belt off and inspected pulleys, Idler pulley had about 1/4 inch of play. replaced and noise gone. I know a lot of people have had a whining issue.
